Basics of Real Estate

Posted by Jon Griffith On May - 23 - 2008

For a first time home buyer, buying or selling a home can be a confusing process, that’s why we’ve provided you with a basic guide to real estate in Arizona. Inside you’ll find the meaning of common terms used in real estate transactions, various resources for information that will help you find a home, and more.

The Related Pages menu on the right contains everything I have written on the basics of real estate for the beginner.

Some of the topics you’ll need to understand when you decide to purchase a home include:

  • Financing – How do I pay for such a large expense and can I afford it?
  • Professional Services – Why do I need a Realtor to help me find a house?
  • Making an Offer – What does that actually mean and how will it impact me and the seller alike?
  • Escrow – the time period that begins if and when the seller accepts your offer.
  • Close of Escrow – The day you actually get the keys to your new home.

There are hundreds of terms that you’ll hear throughout the process which will be overwhelming.  Leave it up to me to handle the ins and outs of the process so you aren’t overwhelmed.  Read up on some of the topics I’ve elaborated upon here in the basic real estate guide section and always, if you have questions, click “Contact Me” from the top menu.

Happy house hunting!
